Child Center of Pennsylvania Honors  Brian Houchins  with Community Recognition Award

The Child Center of Pennsylvania is happy to present Brian Houchins of Mechanicsburg because the winner of the 2023 community Recognition Award.  This prestigious award is presented annually to an individual who has demonstrated exceptional dedication to improving the lives of youngsters in our group.

Brian Houchins, a devoted elementary school instructor and neighborhood volunteer, has been an unwavering advocate for children's schooling and welfare.  Over the past ten years, his efforts have significantly impacted the lives of countless youngsters in Mechanicsburg and surrounding areas.  Houchins' initiatives embody establishing a free after-school tutoring program for underprivileged college students, weekend workshops focusing on literacy and numeracy expertise for at-risk youth, and leading a successful community-driven campaign to upgrade local playgrounds, ensuring secure and inclusive play spaces for all kids.

The event is expected to be on January 15,at the beginning of January2024,at the Mechanicsburg Community Center.  The event will function speeches from native dignitaries, a presentation about Houchins' contributions, and the award presentation.
