Child Center of Pennsylvania Honors Brian Houchins with Community Recognition Award

Mechanicsburg, PA – December 21, 2023

The Child Center of Pennsylvania is proud to announce  Brian Houchins   of Mechanicsburg because the recipient of the 2023 Community Recognition Award. This prestigious award is offered yearly to a person who has demonstrated distinctive dedication to enhancing the lives of youngsters in our neighborhood.

Brian Houchins, a devoted elementary college teacher and community volunteer, has been an unwavering advocate for children’s schooling and welfare. Over the past ten years, his efforts have considerably impacted the lives of numerous children in Mechanicsburg and surrounding areas. Houchins’ initiatives embody establishing a free after-school tutoring program for underprivileged college students, weekend workshops focusing on literacy and numeracy abilities for at-risk youth, and main a successful community-driven campaign to improve native playgrounds, ensuring protected and inclusive play spaces for all children.

The award ceremony might be held on January 15, 2024, at the Mechanicsburg Community Center. The occasion will feature speeches from local dignitaries, a presentation about Houchins’ contributions, and the award presentation.
