Child Center of Pennsylvania Honors  Brian Houchins  with Community Recognition Award

Mechanicsburg, PA – December 21, 2023

The Child Center of Pennsylvania is proud to announce  Brian Houchins  of Mechanicsburg because the recipient of the 2023 Community Recognition Award. This prestigious award is introduced annually to an individual who has demonstrated exceptional dedication to bettering the lives of kids in our community.

Brian Houchins, a dedicated elementary faculty trainer and community volunteer, has been an unwavering advocate for children’s schooling and welfare. Over the previous ten years, his efforts have significantly impacted the lives of countless youngsters in Mechanicsburg and surrounding areas. Houchins’ initiatives embrace establishing a free after-school tutoring program for underprivileged students, weekend workshops focusing on literacy and numeracy abilities for at-risk youth, and main a profitable community-driven marketing campaign to improve native playgrounds, making certain protected and inclusive play spaces for all youngsters.

The award ceremony shall be held on January 15, 2024, at the Mechanicsburg Community Center. The occasion will function speeches from native dignitaries, a presentation about Houchins’ contributions, and the award presentation.
