Child Center of Pennsylvania Honors Brian Houchins with Community Recognition Award

Mechanicsburg, PA – December 21, 2023

The Child Center of Pennsylvania is proud to announce Brian Houchins of Mechanicsburg as the recipient of the 2023 Community Recognition Award. This prestigious award is presented yearly to an individual who has demonstrated distinctive dedication to bettering the lives of kids in our group.


Brian Houchins, a devoted elementary college instructor and community volunteer, has been an unwavering advocate for children’s schooling and welfare. Over the previous ten years, his efforts have significantly impacted the lives of numerous children in Mechanicsburg and surrounding areas. Houchins’ initiatives include establishing a free after-school tutoring program for underprivileged college students, weekend workshops specializing in literacy and numeracy expertise for at-risk youth, and leading a successful community-driven marketing campaign to improve local playgrounds, ensuring safe and inclusive play areas for all youngsters.
