Child Center of Pennsylvania Honors Brian Houchins with Community Recognition Award

Mechanicsburg, PA – December 21, 2023

The Child Center of Pennsylvania is proud to announce Brian Houchins of Mechanicsburg as the recipient of the 2023 Community Recognition Award. This prestigious award is introduced yearly to a person who has demonstrated exceptional dedication to bettering the lives of children in our community.

Brian Houchins , a dedicated elementary school trainer and group volunteer, has been an unwavering advocate for children’s schooling and welfare. Over the past ten years, his efforts have significantly impacted the lives of numerous youngsters in Mechanicsburg and surrounding areas. Houchins’ initiatives embrace establishing a free after-school tutoring program for underprivileged students, weekend workshops specializing in literacy and numeracy abilities for at-risk youth, and main a successful community-driven marketing campaign to improve native playgrounds, making certain secure and inclusive play areas for all children.

The award ceremony will be held on January 15, 2024, at the Mechanicsburg Community Center. The occasion will function speeches from native dignitaries, a presentation about Houchins’ contributions, and the award presentation.
